unexpected leafy greens
I was puttering about in the backyard, cleaning up the dead stems etc, got to my kale patch where I hadn’t pulled out the plants last fall.

2013 seed sowing. Also wtf.
Sowed peppers, eggplants first, and later; most of the flowers and broccoli. Also 2 varieties of romaine lettuce. The lettuce & broccoli broke ground in a day. ONE DAY. o_o Is this normal… Last year the lettuce took a few days…. I have a heat mat under the pepper/eggplant section of the flat… does the heat make this much of a difference for cool season crops too?!

Windows Surface RT - aaaaand reset needed.
My Microsoft Surface RT is now being reset to factory settings. sobs.

Bearded Iris and Colchicum
I planted the 5 bearded iris rhizomes and Colchicum today. Tomorrow I have to dig up and thin the iris that’s in a shady spot in my garden and move it to its new spot with the rest of the irises. I have no idea what colour it is, though, coz it’s never flowered in 2 years. :( But these are the ones I bought:
